BATTLE BORN PROGRESS

Tell your Assemblymembers to not give a handout to Hollywood elites

The proposed $95 million annual film tax credit is a dramatic and unnecessary expansion of government spending. At a time when our communities are facing real challenges, from underfunded schools to rising costs of living, we cannot afford to give away hundreds of millions in tax breaks to billion-dollar film studios based in California.

This petition represents a growing movement of taxpayers, small business owners, and voters who are tired of seeing backroom deals and corporate giveaways take priority over the needs of everyday Nevadans. We believe Nevada's future should be built on smart investments, not special interest handouts.

Join us in telling our lawmakers to stop this ridiculous, bloated Hollywood tax scam and start focusing on what matters: building a strong Nevada economy and putting our people first.

It’s time we put Nevada first, not Hollywood.

Tell your Assemblymember:

Protect Nevada Taxpayers — Say NO to Hollywood Handouts

As proud, hard-working Nevadans, we urge you to vote NO on the proposed $95 million-per-year film tax credit expansion recently approved by the Assembly Ways and Means Committee.

This isn’t good governance, it’s a reckless 850% increase over the current program, designed to funnel our tax dollars straight into the pockets of wealthy Hollywood studios. At a time when families across Nevada are tightening their belts, it’s wrong to ask taxpayers to subsidize big-budget productions from California.

This is not fiscal responsibility. It’s crony capitalism.

Nevada faces real challenges: underfunded schools, overstretched healthcare services, and a growing need for affordable housing. Our small businesses and local communities could do so much more with that $95 million each year, but instead, it’s being handed to billion-dollar entertainment giants that don’t answer to Nevadans and don’t share our values.

We believe in smart economic development, the kind that lifts Nevada workers, supports local business owners, and strengthens our infrastructure. Throwing hundreds of millions at out-of-state corporations is not the solution.

This is about standing up for Nevada, not Hollywood.

We call on you to vote NO on this wasteful tax credit expansion.

Let’s put Nevada families first and stop the giveaways to the Hollywood elites.
