Tell the Senate Finance Committee: Reject Voter Suppression—Vote NO on Voter ID (AB499)

Nevada lawmakers are considering amendments to AB499 that would impose strict Voter ID requirements and overhaul our voting procedures. These changes are not about election integrity, they’re about making it harder for everyday Nevadans to vote.

We call on the Senate Finance Committee to reject this dangerous bill and protect the freedom to vote.

Sign the petition below to urge committee members to vote NO on AB499’s harmful voter ID provisions.

Tell the Senate Finance Committee:

AB499’s proposed amendments are a direct attack on the right to vote. They introduce strict Voter ID requirements that will disproportionately harm:
- Seniors
- Low-income Nevadans
- College students
- Communities of color

These groups are less likely to have the forms of ID that would be required under this legislation, effectively silencing their voices in our democracy.

Let’s be clear:
🔍 Voter fraud is exceedingly rare. Investigations by both the Brennan Center for Justice and the Heritage Foundation confirm it.
📉 Voter ID laws reduce voter turnout, especially among already marginalized communities.
💰 Implementing Voter ID laws is expensive, forcing counties and the state to divert precious resources away from real election needs.
🗳️ This is a solution in search of a problem. Instead of improving access, AB499 throws up barriers.

We must protect our elections from suppression, not from voters.

Add your name today to demand that members of the Senate Finance Committee:
-Vote NO on AB499's Voter ID amendments
-Defend accessible, secure, and fair elections for all Nevadans
-Reject any efforts to pass this bill "behind the bar" or out of public view

Our democracy works best when every voice is heard and every vote is counted. Don’t let AB499 silence Nevada voters.
